Last night, my family had a HUGE surprise party at their house for a friends birthday. The food was AWESOME! We had tons of appetizers, a wine bottle that was half my height, a main dish of some sort of delicious chicken with rice, and then chocolate cake and various cheeses for dessert.
It was such a neat experience -- the party was for a Turkish man, there was a family of Spanish descent, the two columbian girls, the italian girl, me and another student from the States, and tons of French people -- all gathered in the same place speaking French, laughing, and completely understanding eachother! What a neat experience.
We all sat around singing songs after, because one man who was there is a musician. He sang songs in all different languages, and people would join in whenever they knew the words.
Im getting along SO well with the Italian girl, Stella. She is such an interesting person, as she has traveled a lot and is able to share many stories. Two columbian girls arrived yesterday, both named Daniella, which I was immediately thankful for considering I am bad with names.
I am going to invite them out tonight with my friends and I after we eat dinner with our family. It is "International Student" night at that really cool Australian Bar, so all the people in my group are getting all the other exchange students living at each of our houses to join!
Needless to say, itll be a very interesting group of people and mix of cultures! I am so excited!
We had our midterm today, even though its only been a week and a half! We have this class for 2.5 hours every morning though, and we have LOTS of homework every night. They condense a semesters worth of information into a few weeks -- oy! The midterm went well though!
This afternoon, for my Montpellier class, we had a scavenger hunt, where we had to find information about Montpellier by asking people around the town. My group kinda cheated and googled some of the stuff ;) Im sorry, but it was SO hot today! I heard it is the hottest day they have had in a few years.
Well Im gonna get going to dinner! I dont have anything too terribly exciting planned for the next few days, but I will keep ya updated!
Love you all!
